This visit to Cambodia was not about work. I had brought my professional camera and a medium format camera to document our days as we traveled through the country and to make a few photos of my host family. Otherwise, I was basically toting the cameras along incase something sparked my interest.

This lack of planning made me uneasy. Initially, I struggled to bring out my big camera. It felt unneeded and bulky for the daily walks around Phnom Penh and the seaside at Kep. I was bringing my Samsung Galaxy out during all of these walks. I started to make photos of daily scenes that we came upon.

I wasn't aiming to produce anything, but was documenting Cambodia as we were experiencing it. This removed the confines of having an individual story or topic and I just felt my way through it all. What this blog shows is a photo essay (of sorts) of everyday images from Cambodia.
